ON the night of August 31, 1939, an operation organized by Nazi SS chief Heinrich Himmler and his chief deputy Reinhard Heydrich, with the assistance of Abwehr chief Adm. Wilhelm Canaris – and, in a supreme historical irony, Israeli national hero Oskar Schindler – staged a number of ‘false flag’ incidents along the German-Polish border to give the impression of Polish aggression against Germany; the most famous of these was the “Gleiwitz Incident,” an attack on the Sender Gleiwitz radio station in the German border town of the same name, which is now the town of Gliwice in Poland. A small group of SS personnel took over the station from its (German) operators, broadcast a short anti-German message in Polish – the contents of which have been lost to time, but don’t really matter anyway – and then left several dead prisoners dressed in Polish army uniforms behind so that the German authorities would have something to show the press the next day.

The next day, of course, was September 1, 1939, the start of World War II in Europe with Germany launching a massive invasion of Poland. Nazi leader Adolf Hitler needed some excuse to do so, and the Gleiwitz Incident and the other “aggression” blamed on the Poles from the night before provided that. Almost no one outside Germany believed the Nazis – and their skepticism would be proven correct years later, during the Nuremberg Trials – but Hitler knew that didn’t really make any difference. In a meeting with his generals on August 22, as the final arrangements for the launch of the invasion were being prepared but some of them were expressing some concern over whether it would be justified, Hitler told them, “I will provide a propagandistic casus belli. Its credibility doesn’t matter. The victor will not be asked whether he told the truth.”

History does not repeat itself, contrary to the old aphorism. But it frequently rhymes, and sometimes in horrible ways.

By now, everyone has heard about the purported attempted hijacking of Flydubai Flight 1073 on September 30, a flight on a regularly scheduled route between Dubai and Tel Aviv that at the time had 174 passengers – 150 of them Israelis – and six crew on board. The official story, in a nutshell, is that the copilot of the plane, an Omani national and apparent Islamist terrorist, attacked the pilot with a crash axe during the flight, injuring him seriously. Several heroic passengers intervened to save the captain and subdue the attacker, with one, reportedly a plumber who said he learned how to manage an airliner from watching the “Air Crash Investigation” television program, getting the airplane under control until a relief crew who had been on board as passengers were able to take over and land the plane safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

The only things that are known to be true about any of this is that Flight 1073 arrived in Tabuk with a damaged tail, and a wounded pilot; everything else about the story is at best highly suspect, with most of it already having been refuted as ridiculously impossible. Except for most of the mainstream news media – an industry that has collectively rid itself of courage, critical thinking, and self-respect over the past decade – and that segment of the human population who still unquestioningly accepts what it is told so long as that is what it wants to hear, the overwhelming public consensus, almost from the very moment this news story broke, was that this was an Israeli “false flag” operation.

I am not going to go through the growing mountain of evidence debunking the claims and unmasking the ludicrous inconsistencies in the story of the incident itself; the social media is on fire with people already doing that at a furious pace, go look around if you want to learn more. And while you do, consider the events leading up to it:

First of all, it should be noted that Netanyahu is facing a tough parliamentary election in Israel on October 27, an election that his neo-fascist Likud party is in serious risk of losing. If they do, Netanyahu personally will lose his cover from a long list of graft and corruption charges, but how much of his regime’s machinations are for the purposes of protecting him personally and how much are a defense of continued Zionist supremacy is a matter for speculation. Despite the overwhelmingly brutality with which the Netanyahu government has pursued its campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people, and as a complement, its campaign against Iran and its proxies in the region, the war is widely unpopular in Israel. It is wrecking the Israeli economy, it is turning Israel into a pariah state in the eyes of the world, it is contributing to a steep rise in anti-Jewish sentiment, rhetoric, and even action in some cases, and it is most certainly not making Israel safer.

In the immediate aftermath of the October 7 attacks, it was widely rumored that the Netanyahu government had been warned that Hamas was “planning something big,” but had disregarded the information. That naturally led to speculation that the politically under-fire Netanyahu had intentionally let it happen, although it was just as possible that Israeli intelligence was skeptical of its veracity, and made a simple error in not acting on it. In the past two weeks, however, information has emerged that the rumors were, in fact, completely true. A Wall Street Journal report on or about Sept. 28 detailed how Egyptian military intelligence had tried twice to pass the warning along to the Israeli government, without apparent success. On the same day, The Times of Israel reported that Netanyahu, during a surprise visit to the UAE on Sept. 26-27, had asked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to deny reports that the UAE had also warned Israel ahead of the Oct. 7 attacks – something that had been reported by the Israeli news outlet Haaretz a couple of months ago – which Zayed refused to do.

When Netanyahu returned to Israel, the next story of interest from the prime minister’s office to hit the news was his claim that, during his visit to the UAE, the Emirati authorities had passed along another warning that some kind of terrorist attack against Israel was in the works. And then, as if on cue, the Flydubai incident occurred on Sept. 30.

Exactly how the Zionist regime pulled it off is not yet known, but the story will come out, sooner or later. Perhaps Benjamin Netanyahu’s own Gleiwitz Incident will be laid bare by a modern version of the Nuremberg Trials, or perhaps it will be exposed in some other way. That it will be is not in doubt, but is only a question of time.
